Toyota Corolla (E120): Inspection procedure
1 Check operation(starter)
- Check that the starter operates normally and that the engine starts.
2 Input signal check
- See input signal check on page 05–745.
- check the indicator light when shifting into except d position.
Ok: the indicator light goes off when shifting into except d position.
3 Inspect terminal voltage(d)
- Turn the ignition switch to on.
- measure voltage between terminal 4 (d) of cruise control
ecu assy connector and body ground when shifting into
d position and other positions.
Ok:
4 Check harness and connector(between cruise control ecu assy and park/neutral position switch)
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between cruise control ecu assy and park/ neutral position switch
Check and replace cruise control ecu assy
Other materials:
Transmission valve body assy (atm)
Replacement
1. Remove engine under cover lh
2. Drain automatic transaxle fluid
remove the drain plug, gasket and drain atf.
install a new gasket and drain plug.
Torque: 17.5 Nvm (178 Kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf)
3. Remove automatic transaxle oil pan sub–assy

1 Inspect fuse(ecu–ig fuse)
Remove ecu–ig fuse from the instrument panel j/b.
check continuity of ecu–ig fuse.
Ok:

2 Inspect battery
Ok:
voltage: 10 – 14 v
